Exciting News

Sorry I've been MIA lately. We have finally been given the fantastic news that our house is complete and we should have the keys on Tuesday! Such an amazing feeling, knowing that all our hard work has paid off. We officially move in next Saturday - Happy Easter to us! I cannot wait to get in there and start decorating - let the real fun begin!

What a weekend....

Do you ever have those weekends that you just don't enjoy? They don't come up very often but when they do they well and truly suck! This weekend we were so busy packing, doing things around the house, attending parties, shopping etc. that I didn't get time to stop and relax at all. On top of all our running around we were dealing with a sick toddler who clearly needed sleep but refused to do so and the end of daylight savings which has well and truly knocked her for a 6 (or should I say 5 seeing as that is the time we started our Sunday). I hate weekends like that, I need my down time! Looking on the bright side - nothing is planned for next weekend so I intend to make the most of my relaxation time!

The Great Wall Decal Search

For months now, I have been searching for the perfect wall decal for my daughters room. I have spent pretty much the entire time searching on Etsy and I'm so overwhelmed for choice! There are so many I love, I don't know how I'm ever going to decide what one to get. Here are some of my favourites:

Date Night

My husband and I try to get out and have a date night at least once a month. Sometime life just gets too busy and we forget to do it but I think its really important to have your couple time and some time away from the little one. Today we had a lovely date - we went shopping and then to a movie. Our chosen movie was:

What a great movie!! It was a love story with a bit of a sci-fi twist. Matt Damon was fantastic as always, I think he is getting better looking with age. I've not seen many Emily Blunt movies before so didn't know much about her but she was great as well. The best thing about this movie was that it had something for both of us. I loved the romance and my husband loved the sci-fi. Highly recommend this movie to anyone!

Relax and Take A Deep Breath

Today was one of those days where you just need to take a minute, breath and tell yourself everything is going to be okay! Building has its ups and downs and today was definetly one of the down days. Fingers crossed tomorrow is a more postive day.

Guilty Pleasure

I have to confess that one of my guiltiest pleasures is reality TV. The trashier it is, the more I seem to love it! We used to have Foxtel and it was heaven for me. Trash, after trash, after trash - I couldn't get enough. Then we got rid of my beloved foxtel and I was left to find my shows by other means - if you know what I mean. My current obsession is The Kardashians.

 I used to watch them a bit when I had foxtel but my hubby got me the first few seasons for Christmas and I have been obsessed ever since. I have managed to watch 5 seasons of Keeping Up With The Kardashians and 2 seasons of Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami in a matter of weeks. Now I'm onto Kourtney and Kim Take New York and am very sad that the season is almost over. I just cant get enough. I love Kourtney who is a new mum but manages to run a very successful business and look gorgeous while doing it. I love Khloe who is outspoken and confident. I love Kim who despite all her controversy somehow seems innocent and sweet. The family dynamics have me intrigued every episode and I just cant get enough.

Blinds Blinds Blinds

One more thing crossed off the list for our new house! Yesterday we put a deposit down on blinds. Blind shopping wasn't easy, all I knew was that I wanted plantation shutters and when the quote came back for shutters on the whole house I nearly died when it was over 10k! They look awesome but gosh they are expensive. So in the end this is what we have chose:

One of the things I cannot wait to do when we get into our new house is decorate my little girls bedroom. When we did her nursery, we didnt have much to work with. Her room was very small and didnt really have room for anything other than a bed and chest of drawers. So I am so excited to make her new bedrrom a little girls paradise. Where to start?

With the completion of our house fast approaching we have decided to start thinking about packing. I find even the thought of it so overwhelming. Where do we start? Where do we get boxes? How do I make sure things don't break? Really, the answers to these are pretty simple but I am procrastinating as I find the whole process so overwhelming. So this weekend its time to knuckle down and get a head start on things. I cant put it off any longer!

The Building Adventure

Our building adventure started in May last year. Now we are so close to our new home being ready. It hasnt always been a smooth journey but for the most part I think we have been pretty lucky. Here are some pics of our soon to be new home!

See, we are currently building a house so I've been trawling through people's blogs getting ideas for my own home.
